BANDQ & AMark Tremonti
November 13, 2001

creedpup: HI Mark, Im curious, in the "My Sacrifice" video was that a real PRS? P.S.Thanks for posting Mark Tremonti: Yes, it was a real PRS. But its being donated to the Hard Rock Cafe so its gonna have a good afterlife!
* * *
LilDarlin (Dee): What do you normally... do after a performance to come down from the rush?

MT: I eat some aftershow food, and look for somebody else to play in Ping Pong!
* * *
Lee: Mark, We both share the same Birthday, I know as an Aries we can be a bit wild : ) I was wondering how you spent your Birthday this year, and is it any different now then it was before you made it big??? Keep up the great work and Thank you.

MT: It must have been something wild....I can't remember!
* * *
Cynt: Favorite food on the road????

MT: Grilled chicken. With a side order of corn.
* * *
Heather: I want to hear you sing more. (Not that Stapp doesn't do a wonderful job.) You have a great voice from what I can tell. What is the chance of that happening?

MT: It just kind of happens by chance when its really needed. I sing a lot when I'm by myself though.
* * *
creedkat: what's gonna be the next single? do u guyz have any plans on what it's gonna be?

MT: We haven't made a decision yet, but we have gotten some great feedback on Bullets.
* * *
Creedinmysoul: Concerning the Eddie Van Halen pic.... Did you ask him to take it, or did he ask you? Was he an influence?

MT: I asked him to take it. And he's a GREAT guitar player so he had an influence on my somewhere along the way
* * *
Sweetrelief: I really want to know (musical reference) WHAT do you think of Leslie West - you manage to get the same trademark sound he gets on his gibson - do you listen to him?

MT: Man, I love Mississippi Queen! But I don't know too much more about Leslie West.
* * *
Connie: I'm a huge fan of Eric Clapton and I was just wondering what you thought of him? I've heard you talk about several other guitarist but not him. Just curious

MT: Just recently watching the Stevie Ray tribute DVD, I've really come to respect Clapton even more than I had before. I've always thought he was a great player.
* * *
PinkDiddy: This is kinda deep, but really~ what is the one social issue (be it AIDs, racism, lack of responsible parenting, etc.) that you feel affects your (our) generation today?

MT: Violence in schools and parents not paying enough attention to their kids. Creed has recently released some music for a national anti-violence campagin (sort of like D.A.R.E., but geared towards addressing the issues of violence). We'll post more information about it to the Creed website soon.
* * *
MetalDimension: Mark, I just wanted to congratulate you and the Scotts on what I believe as the coolest Creed video yet, and one of the best videos in general that I've ever seen. I love the symbolism with the old man and the child, and the fact that in the video Scott is riding the boat through the river, which is like him riding through life. It was truly exceptional. Congrats guys!

MT: Thank you very much. You never know how a video will turn out until its done, and we were pretty happy with it.
* * *
*Super Creedo*: Do you, Scott or Flip have any..... annoying habits?? (cracking your bones, biting your nails)

MT: Flip is always running late, and I have the problem of always needing to be on time. Good thing we're not married!
* * *
Eric D.: Hey Mark- Hey, how's it goin'?? First off- I just would like to say real quick I love you guys and can't wait 'til you come back to the Motor City! Even though you have some "competition" here with Kid Rock's CD coming out the same day as yours- I'm gonna do everything I can to make sure you guys get to #1 locally AND nationally!!!! My question is.... Does Creed still plan on releasing the 2 CD set w/ b-sides and acoustics, and also that Creed DVD that was supposed to come out last Fall??? Thanx for your time....

MT: We've talked about our next release being a b-sides record with acoustic tracks, but we'll see what happens and when. And we are planning on filming a lot on the forthcoming tour for a DVD.
* * *
Claysmama: Do you have an alter-ego.... on stage? You seem a bit shy and quiet during interviews,but when on stage totally relax.

MT: Definitely. I'm a completely different person onstage than offstage.
* * *
CJ: First of all just want to give my regards for teaching me how to play guitar. Well not personally but if it wasn't for you i never would have had the desire to buy my les paul studio. I was just wondering because it seems that people in the spotlight would grow tired of signing autographs day in and day out. And obviously Creed has been in the spotlight for the past few years. How easy and how often do you go out in public and just hang out?

MT: I'm a pretty low key guy and spend a lot of time at home. But its always nice to meet a fan at a local restaurant or mall.
* * *
Addicted 2 Tremonti { Tara }: I've asked this of ALL the band members cause I really want to know! Are you going to have a "mommy most pit" for parents that have small kids that want to attend your shows? Perhaps something to consider???

MT: If you're concerned about mosh pits, there will always be reserved seating in the arena. I would avoid General Admission tickets and you should be fine.
* * *
tracyrb: How many songs will you play at Cowboys Game. I can't wait to see you guys live. It will be my first time.

MT: It's going to be a medley. Don't want to spoil the surprise.
* * *
indy: How many songs were written for Weathered? How many were cut, and are they all going to be b-side releases?

MT: There was about 13 songs written, and a whole bunch more we didn't finish writing. There will be at least one b-side.
* * *
Corvvs Texanis: As a long-time grunger, I was surprised when any album surpassed Nirvana's, but My Own Prison did just that in '97, in particular with the song that has become my favorite, Torn. I was wondering what you could tell me about that song, its inspiration, tabs, that kind of thing, because it holds a certain fascination for me. Thank you for your time.

MT: Torn was written at a time in my life where I was pretty down with work and school, and it was just tough times. It was a good release from that state of mind that I was in.
* * *
Jaymz113: Hello!!!! I´m Gerardo Ibañez, from argentina; I play in and band, I love your music, I´ve been very influenced by your music! I hope it means something for you! well my question for you is: Can you tell me the chords for the chorus of "My Sacrifice"?

MT: Happy to hear from someone so far away! Thanks! I can't be specific on the chords as I'm on a cell phone, but a book of tabs/chords will be out shortly.
* * *
Karen: Mark ?? about your meeting Kirk and James, How cool that must have been for you to meet your idols...were you in awe or what??? OK anyway, is it true Ed from +Live+ introduced you AND would you guys ever consider making my dream come true and Co-Headline with +Live+?????? PLEASE TELL ME YES :::starts crossing fingers:::::D

MT: Ed made me aware that James was at a bar that we were standing out in front of, so I was introduced to him and it was the first person I'd met that I didn't know what to say to. I was kinda nervous! But it was great to be able to meet the guys I've looked up to for so long in my life. And Kirk told me I had a good tone which meant a lot!
* * *
Creedian: Are there any songs/riffs you have written before My Own Prison, that just want to be kept to you, or just haven't been released yet? Thanks Mark.

MT: I've written thousands of riffs, and I'm sure most will never be heard by the general public.
* * *
*Super Creedo*: If you could have ONE super-human strength what would it be and why??? like X-Ray vision or the ability to fly!!

MT: The ability to stop time.
* * *
Wickedsix: It would be awesome if creed had dancers. Not like your Britney Spears type...something like Kid Rock who usually has strippers swinging on poles during the performance. Or somethin like Rob Zombie who has his own special cheerleaders with him on stage!!

MT: It's all about the music and explosions...sorry!. But yes, I *HATE* needles.
* * *
WeatheredPrison: can you say.... Anything about the first creed song written according to stapp in an interview i saw. He called the song Grip My Soul. do you plan on playing any unreleased older materials written back around 97??? thanks for being here mark you are truly a genious on the guitar.

MT: When we release a b-sides record, we'll probably record some of the songs written before My Own Prison which were all good, but we'd sort of grown out of or got sick of before we recorded MOP. "Nothing" which will be a b-side from the WEATHERED sessions was actually written before MOP.
* * *
Debi: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE WEBSITES BY THE FANS MADE FOR YOU Tremonti 418 (Erin) and TremontiIsGod (Michael)are only two that I can think of that have dedicated websites to you, how does that make you feel to have such good people dedicate so much hard work and time for you?

MT: I was honored when I first found out about the websites. I still can't get used to it, but its such a great compliment!
* * *
dBarone: What cartoon or cartoon character is your fav?

MT: All the Thundercats.
* * *
AC: Mark... A friend of mine tried to play some of your stuff...he had the chordbooks and all the notes down right....but he didnt have any effects....what (if any) pedals do you use??

MT: I play pretty straight...my dirty guitars I use a wah-wah and on my clean tone I use a little delay and a bit of reverb
* * *
BaHaMa: What was your favorite band to tour with?

MT: Sevendust, because they're such good friends. And they ROCK!
* * *
Karen: Who came up with the nickname BRUTUS????? and do you still use that nickname????

MT: My brother Michael is the only one that calls me Brutus.
* * *
Lee: Mark, I was just curious how you feel Weathered differs from previous work, and why? Thank You for all your inspiration, you have brought joy to all our lives, and especially in these hard times we need it even more.

MT: It's dynamically superior to the last records, and its the next chapter in the history of Creed.
* * *
melanie: Do you guys plan on doing any extensive touring in Canada? The reason I ask this is because I live in Newfoundland, and it would be pretty hard for me to travel to Toronto, Ont. to see you guys. And... What are your thoughts on this whole interactive thing with the fans? Do you feel it is important for you to do this? Thanx!

MT: We'll hit Canada for sure this next year. The chat is just as fun for us as it it for the fans.
* * *
Karen: First of all why don't you wear the ear buds??? what is your favorite food from the tour rider?? and what is your favorite pie???? hmmmm???

MT: I love to hear my guitars nice and loud!
* * *
~*Chrissy*~: What was your favorite video to shoot? and which do you like the best? I luv your work! It puts me in a good mood!!!!!

MT: I still like the What If video the best, but My Sacrifice is a close second.
* * *
mynx: What do you miss most about.... Michigan!!!

MT: I miss the trees, the green grass...the nature of Michigan. And a lot of the architecture. My friends, and just the vibe you get from the areas around Detroit.
* * *
Kristina: Whose idea was it... to do these fan interactives? The band's or Wind up's? And others such as the Hard Rock shirt auction for the WAWO Foundation. That one cost me $200!

MT: The band decided to do it when they heard about the Creednet Bulletin Board crash. And we're really having a good time doing it!
* * *
Trina: Hi Mark, My son started playing guitar about 3 months ago. You are one of his favorite guitarists. He is 10..almost 11 and his name is Brook. His teacher says he is doing awesome and is just about ready to teach him some Creed. They had a little chat about how you tune your guitar differently. Anyway...do you have any words of encouragement for him. It would make him so happy to hear a little something from you. Thanks Mark.

MT: I started playing when I was 11 so you've got a head start on me! I wish you the best of luck--it's really the best hobby you could ever have.
* * *
Dookie:): Do you ever get nervous before a show?

MT: Every show I get a mixture of nervousness and excitement. If you don't get nervous, you're not gonna enjoy it!
* * *
pookie: Boxers or briefs?

MT: Boxers
* * *
Michael: I was wondering if you could tell us where to get the cool shirts you wear like Third Rail, Edge, and Von Dutch. Thanks!

MT: What's up Michael? What's happening man? I get the shirts mailed to me from the company but you can get the shirts in L.A. on Melrose. I've never actually seen a Third Rail shirt in a store, but you could probably look it up on the Internet and find some.
