ImACreedie: Since Mark and Scott write the songs...we have all had a small peek inside their thoughts and emotions...Which Creed song would you say describes 'you' best?
Scott Phillips: Even though I'm not one of the songwriters, all of these songs--ALL OF THEM--are very much a part of me as well.
* * *
ScottP's#1Fan: Hey Scott! You kick a** man!! your style absolutley just rocks, anyway, my question is, what song off the new album means the most to you and why? Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! Keep up the Kick A** drumming!!
SP: It would have to be "Who's Got My Back". I think the reason why is that's one of the songs that I had heard Mark working on the longest and to watch that song develop from just Mark playing it on his guitar to where it is now was a really special thing to witness.
* * *
Mike: Hey what was your first concert ever? Or one that sticks out most in your mind? Thanks ! You Rock!!!
SP: First most memorable was the original Lollapalooza...with Living Color, Jane's Addiction and Siouxie & the Banshees. It was at that moment that I decided to get into a band.
* * *
Last Prayer: What's your favorite song on the new album? And what's your favorite Creed song?
SP: I don't have a favorite of what we've recorded, but as far as playing live my favorite is "Unforgiven".
* * *
Dookie: At what point in your life did you say "I can do this? I can make music for a living? And did you ever have any doubts?
SP: Right after I saw the 1st Lollapalooza concert, I decided to do it for a living. I didn't ever think I couldn't do it. My parents, who were very supportive, did have their doubts. But they've been there for me every step of the way.

DAZ: Dear Mr. Flip: What kind of driver are your currently using and what kind of shaft is it in? And what is your reponse to Stapp's response regarding you and mulligans? If there were no muligan involved, who would win a match between you and Flip? STAPP: I'd win...definitely me...we tied today though...we both shot an 87 and missed a bunch of easy putts... Please enlighten us, inquireing minds WANT to know!
SP: It's a Ping Tisi 8 1/2 degree with a Fugikura Speeder 757 shaft.
* * *
I'veBeenStappmatized: Hi Flip! Spending as much time as the 3 of you do together, and knowing each other as well as you do, what would you say is Scott's best quality and Mark's best quality? Thanks for everything! See you on the road! ROCK ON!
SP: They each have too many good qualities to list. But they are good friends and warm-hearted guys. Even though I'm the superior golfer!
* * *
tailspinner: Hey Flip! I was just wondering if you have any solos on the new album. I love hearing you rock out!
SP: No solos, but I feel like all 3 of us are very well represented on the album.
* * *
Debi: In the preview you apeared to be up to your chest in water, there are rumors that there was almost an accident with electricity? Is it true or did everything go smoothly? Was it fun being in the water like that?
SP: I was actually only up to my waist in water. There was an accident on the 3rd day of shooting. Fortunately for everyone, nobody was hurt. It was definitely fun. One of the better times we've had on a video shoot!
* * *
Blue: If you could do anything else other than music What would it be and why?
SP: Either a professional golfer, or go back to being a vacum cleaner salesperson. Just kidding!
* * *
HigherOne: Stapp claims to be the better golfer (though he said you tied yesterday)... true Flip? or can you take him?
SP: I could take him any day of the week, with one hand tied behind my back!
* * *
Last Prayer: Who are some of your favorite artists? Both now and all time?
SP: Some of my current favorites are Sevendust, my brother's band Four Years Past, and Drowning Pool. My all time favorites are Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
* * *
Crystal: Scott, I would like to know who your influences are for the drums & if you think you're a better drummer or golfer. Also, is Morgan Rose better at golfing or drumming? You both rock the drums! LOL!! I can't wait to get both new cds from the bands! Rock on man!
SP: My influences are Matt Cameron, Danny Carey, and Will Calhoun.I think I'm a better drummer than a golfer, but my golf game is improving greatly! Oh, and Morgan is definitely a better drummer, but a very solid golfer.
* * *
Sandie: What is in your cd player right... NOW?
SP: I've got a 5 disc changer, and in it now is the new Tool CD, Filter, both Staind CDs and the new Sevendust CD.
* * *
LilDarlin (Dee): How does it feel to have a sibling follow in your footsteps? Does he ask your advice?
SP: It makes me very proud. He started in a very similar manner to how I started, and I think that he is more advanced at his age than I was at the same time. And he does occasionally ask for advice.
* * *
Boooooo: do any of you three play video games? if you do then who plays the most?,what kind of systems do you guys have?and what are your favorite games i know these are the most stupidest questions you have ever heard but i want to know
SP: We all play video games. Mark plays the most. My favorite game is Silent Scope.
* * *
shackledode_davidrios: what is something you want to do that you have not yet done
SP: Skydiving.
* * *
Tortured Spirit: To Scott Phillips, What has been your most challenging/most fun CREED song or any other song that you might have played? Do you ever get the opportunity to write your own music, or does Mark and Scott take care of it all that?
SP: Actually, it would be Bullets. The timing is weird and is something I'm still getting used to.
* * *
Kiki D: Who started calling you Flip? Is it just because of your last name or is there a story behind it. Thanks
SP: Flip was the brainchild of Mike Tremonti (Mark's brother) and its just a play on my last name. And the official spelling is Flip.
* * *
Creed Criter: Pet Peeves do you have any?
SP: I'm pretty easy going. If I think of any, I'll get back to ya.
* * *
jeaneen: Was there a meaning behind the hundreds of eggs in the WTLF video? I've seen others post it on the BB and always wondered about it too.
SP: My interpretation is that each of the eggs represents a life and how fragile it can be. This is just my take on it.
* * *
gburt_lagnaf: no specifics needed, but have you ever been freaked out by fans?
SP: On occasion, but most of our fans are really cool people who just want to get to know us on a personal level.
* * *
blancoat: How is it that you guys can come up with songs that are heavy and crunchy, yet melodic and beautiful? And that's exactly why Creed is my favorite band. And there's not enough bands that can succesfully blend distorted guitars with clean melodies. Creed is the best thing that has come to good ol' rock n roll in a long time. Please answer the question.
SP: It's just what happens when Mark and Scott get together. With the differences they have in songwriting, that's just what ends up coming out.
* * *
Brandon L: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE ZILDJIAN Z CUSTOMS??? I like your sound better now that you use them. They speak out more.
SP: I agree. They are probably the best cymbals I've every used for a live performance.
* * *
candygirl: What's the most embarrassing... thing that's ever happened to you while performing or what not?
SP: Hitting myself in the eye with a drumstick during a concert. Didn't have to stop, but couldn't see for about five minutes!
* * *
Karen: Do you have plans for the up coming tour to have the drum set so we can see you better...like having a rotating platform that moves around the stage or maybe have the drumset come up from beneath the stage on the risers??? Are there any plans in the works right now of the stage setup? We wanna see you rock out on the skins and show us what drumming is all about Incorporate a little drum solo in concert too I want to thank you for everything the band has done and continues to do for the fans, but above all, for the music that has saved my life...THANK YOU!!!!!
SP: We've got some things in the works that will highlight everyone in the band. Lots of ideas being tossed around....you'll see!
* * *
Dookie: I know everyone is always asking what your favorite song is to perform live but are you brave enough to tell us what song is your LEAST favorite to perform live?
SP: It's not the least favorite because of the song itself, but the first song of the night is always the toughest because your body is just getting warmed up.
* * *
tony: What was your most memorable show?? Mercedes, Texas??
SP: Well, Mercedes was one of the most memorable due to the crummy weather, but it was the fan response that really made it memorable!
* * *
Jon: Does the band ever plan to record and put on an album all of those songs from when you guys first made "My Own Prison". Also, in another thread, you said that you have a favorite song that is not recorded. Why do these songs get cut from the albums?
SP: It's something we're considering in the future, but don't have any specifics yet. I think it will definitely happen at some point in our career.
* * *
Pookie: If you were asked to play the drums for another bands song... Who would you want the band to be? And why?
SP: Sevendust. Just because I'm such a fan of their music and Morgan is such a great drummer I'd like to see if I can play his parts as well as he does! Of course, if there was a Led Zeppelin reunion, well....
* * *
Tremonti is God: Do you still play saxophone? I remember that you played it in High School.
SP: It's been a very very long time since I played the sax, but I still have my high school sax and might bust it out one of these days. In fact Bullets originally had a 10 minute sax solo in it.... Just kidding!
* * *
Myrage: Do you read the bulliten board? Just wondering because you have alot of dedicated fans. There is even a thread here at creednet dedicated specifically to you. :rock lives:
SP: I do get on there when time permits, but haven't had much time to respond. We'll see what happens going forward.
* * *
Candygirl: Okay, we heard Scott's story last night about him and Mark trying to impress some girls the night that they first heard MOP on the radio. So what's your story? what were you doing when you first heard one of Creed's songs on the radio? how did it make you feel?
SP: I was at a BBQ at a friend's house, and talking to Scott and Mark on the phone throughout the day and I couldn't believe it was actually happening. A really surreal experience.
* * *
mikey: FLIP, Coke or Pepsi??? Just wondering,lol, I like Pepsi better.
SP: Diet Coke all the way...100%.
* * *
HigherOne: As a Zep fan were you surprised when people made the comparison with My Sacrifice and Kasmir?
SP: I was very surprised. I didn't see the correlation at the time that I heard those comments and any correlation was unintentional. But very flattering!
* * *
Mike: Have you seen any cool movies lately? Which ones? Thanks Man!
SP: Haven't seen a movie in the theater in quite a while. Had a bad experience once and decided to just watch everyting at home. I've got a nice home theater system, and the last movie I watched was 3000 Miles to Graceland.
* * *
Ghostman: Scott whats your fav TV sitcom? old and new So what is it?
