THE ONLY LYNX: We, the european fans, like to know when you will tour in europe, because its been a long time you guys been here. For most parts of europe its been since 97. Since the tour in 99 got canceled just after it started, as you might know cuz you were there yourselves. I hope to get an answer, because we really want to see you guys perform live, also because we dont get VH1 and MTV here, and on MTVeurope they dont show things like "making the video" thanx,
The Only Lynx, STAPPster1, LaraC, Creedka, Lacky, Yfje, MarkIsMySunshine, CyberBtch, and many more... ps hope to SEE you guys soon!!!
Scott Stapp: We'll be in Austrailia/New Zealand in late Feb/early March and hope to hit Europe after that!
* * *
Humanback: What would u guys say is your overall favorite song of of WEATHERED? I know it has to be like picking a child....but just kinda try?!?
SS: Bullets...its the most fun to play!
* * *
Claudia: Hey Scott, in a few of the clips available on the pager you're seen playing guitar... did you mostly learn by yourself or with Mark? And are you planning on incorporating that into recordings or just playing for fun? Thanks for taking time for the fans
SS: I learned by myself and with Mark...and yeah, we'll be incorporating it into recordings.
* * *
DAZ: If there were no mulligans involved; who would win a match between you and Flip?
SS: I'd win...definitely me......we tied today though...we both shot an 87 and missed a bunch of easy putts.
* * *
Creed Doors Down: What's in your CD player right now, Scott? Creed Doors Down Just interested in knowing what you're digging right now. Thanks!
SS: The new Sevendust....the album is AWESOME and everyone should own it!
* * *
Danielle: Hi =^.^= I am highly anticipating the release of Weathered! I don't have much time to listen to the radio, so I've only heard My Sacrifice about three times, and to me, it seems like your style has changed a little, it seems "softer" in a way. Is the whole album like that? Don't get me wrong, I love the song, I can sing it in my head even after only hearing it a few times, I was just wondering if the album is softer sounding than MOP and HC? Thanks so much! I love you guys!
SS: This is the HARDEST most EPIC record we've ever done....My Sacrifice is probably the "mid-range" song on the record. The record is very diverse...its got the hardest stuff we've ever done but also the most chill stuff....it's very dynamic.
* * *
Linda: First of all I want to say hello from Poland and thanks for your great music!! And I want to ask you if you liked here in Poland and if you gonna come over here someday again? Thanks!
SS: We've been there before and we'll be back...don't know when....but we'll be there someday!
* * *
Christine: What was Jagger For Halloween? Im a mom of 2 little boys ...these are Important questions. LOL!:D
SS: Jagger was a Knight...King Arthur in fact and he Tricked/Treated with Excalibur...
* * *
Creed Doors Down: Scott, what was it like working with Bo (the Cherokee) on Who's Got My Back?
SS: Very cool. It brought back a lot of childhood memories spent with my Grandfather at the reservation.
* * *
Last Prayer: Do you ever visit fansites? There are many of them on the web. And do you visit Creednet?
SS: Haven't in awhile....between making the album, video and photo shoots time's been short, but have in the past and will do so in the future
* * *
Kelly: Hi Scott! Thanks for spending some time with us tonight. My question has probably been asked a hundred times, but I've never read or heard your answer so . . . Where were you and what was your reaction to hearing My Own Prison the very first time on the radio? How loud did you crank it?
SS: I was in Tallahassee....me Mark and his brother were in his living room and we had some girls around that we were trying to impresse...and when the song came on the DJ said "I bet these guys are sitting around listening to the radio and trying to impress so girls when their song gets played". So we were thrilled and busted at the same time!
* * *
ReligiousCreedFan: Going into the studio to record your follow up to Human Clay was there any pressure to make a better record ,or what people may precieve as a better record? or did you just go in with the mentality that you'll play for yourself and not so much what the radio stations like? Thanks and you guys are the best.
SS: Fortunately, because of the success of the first two records there is no longer any of that pressure....we went in and did exactly what we wanted to do to make us happy and that's what most fulfilling at the end of the day.
* * *
Tally: Personally, I can't wait until I hear "Bullets" performed live. It's gonna be awesome, but my question is as you start this tour, you have three albums to choose from....How do you go about the task of picking out what songs to perform live this time around?? There are so many good songs to choose from so I don't envy you a bit!! Thanks for stopping by and spending the evening here!!
SS: We will definitely play all our singles, plus three songs from each record and rotate the set nightly...there will be some surprises along the way, including some covers that you've never heard so you'll just have to wait.
* * *
Artemisia: Scott, First of all, thank you so much for your wonderful music and for choosing the path that you did in life. And thank you & Mark for your words that mean so much to many people, myself included. My question for you is: How do you balance the wonderful task of pursuing your dreams with the negative aspects that come with it? For instance, does being famous and having your every (not quite, but close) action scrutinized and/or criticized ever get you down? How do you deal with it? I'd also like to say that all of you guys wholeheartedly deserve ALL of the success that you have earned so far! I'm sure that success will continue, given your talent and the huge number of devoted fans you have.
SS: I'm human. It definitely gets to me at times but I've learned to block out the negative and focus on the positive...that's why I don't read reviews and try to surround myself with people who really care about me.
* * *
JaggedThorn: I was wondering if you have any favorite books, movies, and what's in your CD player right now? Thanks
SS: My favorite movie right now because its Jagger's favorite is "Shrek". Joseph Campbell "Myths to Live By" is what I'm reading now....you need to read it 3 or 4 times to catch everything.
* * *
Creed Doors Down: How was it working with your sister on Weathered?
SS: It was awesome! We sang a lot as a family growing up and when we put the word out that I was looking for a female vocalist to sing on the album and it didn't work out with some of the more well known vocalists out there, it seemed the most natural and right thing to do to have my sister do it because she's such a talented singer, songwriter and performer.
* * *
Diane40: Scott and all, Will the creed fan fest still be scheduled in the near future?
SS: Yes. We don't know the exact date but we want to make sure it happens. Because of the unfortunate situations that caused it to be cancelled it has given us time to make it much bigger and better.
* * *
Myrage: Scott, can you tell us more about you guys playing on SNL. Will you be in any of the skits? How many songs will you be playing? P.S. A small request from a bunch of us.... Would you guys do something on SNL just for the peeps here at creednet. A wave, wink or somethin. It would really mean alot.
SS: Don't know yet about the skits...but we hope so!
* * *
Skimray: What concerts have you been to and who was your favorite... I would vote for U-2 for best this year....:)
SS: Metallica...the 95/96 tour after the "black" album.
* * *
shackledode_davidrios: What is your favorite color, food, car, band, place to be?
SS: color=black, food=Italian, car=classic Corvette convertible Stingray ('57), band=U2, place to be=Maui (with Jagger and my surfboard!)
* * *
DAZ: Maybe I overwhelmed you in my mulligans thread with all those questions, so I will do one at a time. How is JHMP handling your fan mail? I sent a package for Mark 4 weeks ago, not thinking about the Anthrax scare. I realize there is a bunch of mail to sort through, so I am not concerned on how long it will take for Mark/Victoria/3 furry friends, to get this package. But concerned that it will be destroyed, as some celeb's are destroying their mail because of the Anthrax dealings.
SS: Creed has purchased a machine that radiates all their fan mail, so all fan mail is getting through...but if you sent cookies they might have burned! We have a fan club (Creed Ink) and we have a staff going through all the mail...we do our best to respond.
* * *
Cheryl: You've got an amazing voice. Did you ever take voice lessons?
SS: No. Completely self taught.
* * *
Amanda: Hey Scott!! What's your new tattoo look like? I saw you getting it on the video on the Pager but it wasn't too clear. You guys ROCK!
SS: It's too hard to describe. It's of Native American origin but you'll have to wait to see some pictures.
* * *
Swoozie-Q: I know fans can be crazy sometimes...what's the strangest think a fan has asked of you? AND did you do it?
SS: It deals with sex...and I'm too embarassed to tell you.
* * *
Sami: Where do you see the band in 5,10 20 years from now?
SS: The band will still be together, but we'll all be diving into different interests that we've been curious about our whole lives.
* * *
Christina: The fans were asked to suggest who they would want to open the new tour. I suggested bands such as Disturbed, Linkin Park, etc. Who would *Creed* like to see open the next tour for them?
SS: We're thinking about doing a contest and letting the fans decide. We want your opinion!
* * *
HunterCreed: I'm the mother of a 21 month old son. I find myself knowing every word to Barney, Rolie Polie Olie, Elmo and MANY other children's songs. Come on, tell us - how many of those do you know???
SS: I know them all. Except my son writes his own songs too!
* * *
Garhett: Hi, My question is for the band. How do all of you pass the time while on the road. I, mean it probabley is tiering and anoying, or do you enjoy it?
SS: We work out. We're into boxing with a personal trainer. Me and Flip play a lot of golf. We play a lot of Madden 2001 on Playstation. And keep Mark in shape with Ping-Pong challenges
* * *
Centauri: Is there a significance to the times shown on the clocks on the human clay album (if in fact it's the time when Jagger was born as they have been rumored to be) or do the clocks symbolize something in themselves for you as a band? And is there any significance to the lock that is inverted and has numbers in inconsequential order on the back of the MOP album?
SS: That's for me to know and you to find out. If you do find out, you'll be rewarded significantly!!
* * *
Scorpion9: What made you guys decide to do "Making the video" for MTV? I've heard that in the past you guys haven't been too geeked with your videos... so are you happy with this one?
SS: We've had to pass on a lot of MTV requests on the past, so when they came to us with an idea that we thought was cool we wanted to to this...for the fans! We're very happy with the new video.
* * *
Soulmagic: I Scott! Creed and Collective Soul are my favorite bands! I loved it when you both toured together!! Who has been the funnest band to tour with? Crystal P.S. Thank you for being so involved and nice to your fans! I have met you all three times, and you were VERY sweet- and sexy!! LOL
SS: Sevendust by far. They've all be different and fun in their ways but Sevendust was really a blast.
* * *
SpankMeMark: I...I need to take this opportunity to mention how much this band has changed my life. I remember how I felt the first time I heard a Creed song....I felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulder...like he music just freed me from everything. About a year and a half ago, my life was literally falling to pieces...I had my heart broken, my friendships were going to hell, and my relationship w/ my mother was literally non-existent! Believe it or not, the thing that brought my mom and I back together was our common love for Scott Stapp's chest! lol Anyways, when I discovered Creed...I would just sit there listening to these albums...crying...letting it all out. With out this music, who knows where i'd be. These albums are my bibles, even my bootlegs are precious (ESPECIALLY THEM!). Through Creed I also met some of the coolest people on this earth....they help me become sane again...They are my sisters and my brothers....This band is my religion...i'll prove that when I'm sporting my new tat next month Right now, The music is helping me cope again...a lot of things are going wrong in my life, but one thing that will never ever leave me is the music....thank you guys...I mean it...
SS: It's a mutual thank you for how much you've contributed to my life, and making my dreams and goals come true!
* * *
Ashleigh: Hi Scott, my name is Ashleigh, I'm from Vancouver, BC, and highly anticipating the new album! I'm just wondering what is your favorite aspect of being in a band as big as Creed? Besides the fact that your music reaches millions of people, what is your favorite part? Thanks Scott.
SS: Knowing that my music makes and emotional and personal attachment with people, and isn't just a groove. Knowing that my music means something to people.
* * *
Dr. Edgepper Naikuu: If someone wanted to know tips for starting a band, what would you tell them?
SS: Find people you like and are interested in the same stuff you are. It's better when you're friends.
* * *
theflyingpig: Which song are you the most proud of?? Also, which was the most challenging (creatively) song to write and record and why??
SS: I'm proud of all of them. It's an interesting question as I don't often think of it that way. But I think the most challenging creatively was "Who's Got My Back" because it had so many elements. To make it fulfill everything on the band's mind we had to pull resources that were deep in every band member to make it the most epic song Creed has ever written.
* * *
Josh: Is the Man on the cover of Weathered Mark Tremonti? Not in sybology but in actuality.
SS: We'll leave that for you to figure out
* * *
Last Prayer: Do you miss the days of obscurity? When you could walk down the street and not get recognized? Success is great, but you had to give up most of your privacy to achieve it. Do you ever miss the days when you were just a normal guy?
SS: Yes. Very much so. But you take the good with the bad and the good FAR outweighs the bad so I'm not going to complain.
* * *
Halo: What gives you the most motivation?
SS: My son.
* * *
DAZ: I know you don't want to give out the meaning of the crest as of yet, but I am trying to do some research on my own. Is the crest, of Cherokee, Lakota, or Chippewa descent? I have looked on multiple web sites and books, and can't find it any wheres, however, I have heard it is Cherokee for friendship. Thinkin' of that third tatt already, and just don't wanna take the plunge unless I know the meaning. And what is your second tattoo of?
SS: Keep searching! You're getting warm...
* * *
Creedfanatic: Scott Stapp what is your favorite album by CREED and why?
SS: Weathered
* * *
Sea Bass: Will you guys be recording any acoustic versions of any songs from Weathered? If so, releasing them on the Creed Pager would be a great way to keep it alive after 11/20.
SS: Yes. We've already recorded a few.
* * *
Jovanna: Hey guys, what's up? Was just wondering what the concept is behind the new video for My Sacrifice since we have all seen the previews for Making The Video. Maybe a little taste before Monday night. Thanks to you for doing this. This is nice of you guys to do this for fans. Keep rockin' on and I will definitely catch you on tour, my friends!
SS: Just like our songwriting, it's up to you to interpret. We're not going to reveal anything!
* * *
Lisa: What song do you sing to Jagger at bedtime?
SS: Jagger's favorites are Bullets and What If. He won't let me sing any lullabies or soft songs. His exact word are "I only like the hard songs!"
